Breeched (baby!MD and baby!VA)

My photoshop is being a derp plus I'm feeling impatient today so I just flung this out in its rawest most painful to look at form. =u=; Sorry about that...

Most little boys wore dresses just like little girls. You seriously couldn't tell the difference until they finally got breeched! This practice continued well into the 1800s. I'm not sure when it stopped being popular to do, but you can find pictures of little boys in dresses during the Civil War period, too! Normally breeching was done around age 5 or so and it was considered the first step in a boy's journey into becoming a man.

... Sadly, that didn't work out so well for poor Marmar in this case... (Virginia used to be so mean to her neighbors omgz)
