As My Coloring Skills Improve I'll Finish This

Description

Some of you may remember when I first drew this picture [link] as an attempt to draw something that was sexy rather than cute. (I'm not too good at drawing anything except cute pictures... >u>; ) My friend, AnimeSnowBunny, made a colored version of it for me because at the time I was too lazy and unskilled with photoshop to even try. Now that I'm starting to have an active interest in inking/coloring stuff I'm going to try to progressively color it for myself, but... as I am I still don't have the skills to make it look how I want. ;u;

So I had this idea that I'd put it up as my featured picture and update it as I become more skilled with photoshop! Hopefully one day it will be finished, but it's going to take a lot of tutorial research... If anyone has any suggestions about how to add effects and stuff I'd really appreciate it. ('u' )

Edit1: As it is now I still haven't even finished inking it all the way and I kind of got stuck after I added basic colors... I'd like to make some nice highlights on the skin and pants for the sun... I'm still not sure how to do that and make it look legit just yet. Maybe it isn't an effect I need and I should keep using the smudge tool? The smudge tool and brush I used for the water effect are so far the only photoshop skills I have. XD

it looks really good so far. Much more solid and brighter than the one I did. That and you added more detail to the water that really helps. (kinda wish I had done that)

I tend to change the opacity of the brush to add highlights or shadows instead of the smudge tool. I could try giving some guidance if you wish. I will say that I did look up a tutorial on making the sun ray and moon light effect on the water but that's added towards the end.
